I am Debt Free Including my House!

Some of you may be familiar with the story I shared last year about paying off $87K in ten months. My story was shared on Good Morning America, CNBC, The Epoch Time, and translated into other languages including Spanish. Becoming consumer debt-free was a substantial relief to me, especially since I was going through a Divorce, Separating from the Army due to PTSD, Depression, and having Physical illnesses all at the same time. That journey gave me something to focus on other than my misery, and it saved my life. You all been right beside me!

In January 2021, I set out to pay off my house by the end of 2021. The balance at the time was $123K, and I told myself that I would pay it off even though I didn't have a plan. God knew and had a plan for my life. I am here to announce that as of December 17, 2021, MY CHILDREN AND I ARE DEBT FREE, INCLUDING OUR HOUSE, thanks to my sister, who has been taking care of my little boys while I work as a contract nurse. My family left South Sudan when I was only three years old. My parents raised my sibling and me in two refugee camps in Ethiopia until we came to America when I was 14. My fight did not stop even though we were in "the land of the free." I soon found myself in an arranged marriage in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 14 and had my first child when I was 17. The odds were not in my favorites. At 24 years old, I graduated with my BSN, and I was commissioned into the Army Nurse Corps and moved across the country with my daughter. I purchased this home in June of 2010 in San Antonio, TX as a single mother.

For the first time since 1987, my family has something positive to pass down to the next generations besides wars and traumas. After receiving the wire transfer confirmation on Friday, I called my mother and told her that we had paid off our house. She asked if she could pray on the phone. I said yes! My mother prayed over our home and my children and said things in her prayer that made me sopped with emotions. I knew right then what this meant to her; it meant freedom, it meant I finally broke the generational curse, it meant we get to give back to those who had given us so much during the last 34 years. It was a gratitude prayer. I am still in disbelief, but I know for a fact that my family finally owns something that is 100% ours.

I want to say thank you to the Dave Ramsey group and countless individuals who have inspired me in the last two years to embark on this journey. The sky is no longer the limit! You will soon hear from me as the next BABY STEPS MILLIONAIRE. Until then, I will praise my Lord and Savior for allowing me to see this day. My prayer is that you will not become weary on your journey to your FREEDOM because, in due time, you will reap what you sow. Thank you for allowing me to continually share my story with you since July 1, 2020. May God bless you beyond your wildest dreams.

To Celebrate me and my life accomplishments, I drove to Chicago, IL, and spend the best 4 days of my life exploring the Windy City. LIFE CAN ONLY GO UP FROM HERE!
