Your Past Will Not Keep You from Over Coming and Succeeding.

Humans are over-comers, and if you have not learned that by now, I hope you do soon. The process we go through to overcome challenges makes us stronger and more resilient; we develop characters. Do NOT avoid it; instead, walk through it with your head held high. I promise you; you will not come out the same person, and you will love the person you have become. In my book "I Am my Mother's Wildest Dream," I share the story of my upbringing, struggles, and challenges; however, it is not just a story of struggles; it's a story of faith, hope, and resilience and how God has been with me through it all. I am thrilled to see that my account is making a difference. Check out what Nyamuoch Jangjuol's had to say about it.

This book is powerful, emotional, and joyful on a very deep level. It is well written and a short read. It is rare to hear a story like Nyajuok Tongyik, especially for many of us that grew up here in the western world and came at a young age. I applaud Nyajuok for her courage to write this book.

This book opens dialogue and conversations that need to happen around families, particularly around South Sudanese families. And most importantly, I encourage men, women, and young adults, boys, and girls to read this book. Nyajuok talks about different topics regarding her life, such as relationships, cultural norms, and successes.

While reading this book, my mind would stray away and take me back to my early childhood memories because I realized that Nyajuok Tongyik's story is very similar to my own experiences growing up in a refugee camp.

In this book, I learned that your past experiences, both good and bad, will not keep you from overcoming and succeeding. I was also reminded that I am the only one that can make changes around my circumstances.

I was hooked from start to finish and inspired by this book. I urge you to get your copy. Thank you, Nyajuok, for taking us on your journey and sharing your story with us!

After reading this passage from Nyamuoch and my story, I hope that you are encouraged to know that where you come from does not have to determine where you are going. It is a matter of your mind and will. Don't be afraid to dream BIG DREAMS because you become what you think. Grab your copy of my book right now and be inspired to live the life you've always wanted.
